Business Resilience Workshop

This event will host two industry professionals who will discuss and workshop business resilience. The speakers that will be present at this event are from a background of both risk and resilience, which while inherently different, form part of the same process:

- Risk Management is a systematic application of management policies, procedures and practices to the tasks of communication, consultation, establishing the context, identifying, analysing, evaluating, treating, monitoring and reviewing risk (ISO 31000)

- Resilience is the ability of an organisation to absorb and adapt in a changing environment (ISO 22316)

During this informal workshop you will hear from each of the two speakers, including their background, what risk and resilience projects they've worked on, their different client base and how the scope of resilience varies dependent on the industry of the client. Given the scope of resilience is dependent on the industry worked in, this workshop will primarily aim to engage and relate the experiences of the speakers with the attendees rather than work through a formal material. The speakers will also aim to tailor the content of their discussion to align with the demographics of the attendees.

When discussing real life examples using based on existing and former clients, these 'case studies' will enable the discussion of how business processes have changed over time and provide oversight into the different frameworks used by the example organisations.

Briony Morgan - Associate Director, Resilience & Innovation at Escalate Consulting

With two Bachelor degrees (Biomedical Science and Science), an Executive MBA, a background in the Australian Army and more recent experience in consulting, Briony has a versatile range of skillsets that include incident management, tactical operational planning, health capability and asset management. Above all, Briony is passionate about helping organisations develop their Resilience capability through Business Continuity, Crisis Management and Strategic Advisory services.

Vikas Reddy - Senior Consultant, KPMG

With a degree in Law and Graduate qualifications in Legal practice and Business continuity, Vikas has a solid and varied legal background working in contracts, project management, governance, risk and compliance. Current working at KPMG, Vikas is well versed in all things risk and resilience.
